We all know one of the reasons anyone ventures to Santa Fe is for the culture. Whether you define culture as performance or static, nowhere delivers like Santa Fe. The promises of exotic colors and rich landscapes have been drawing in and inspiring weary travelers to the City Different for centuries. So if you are looking to entice your visual senses in the Land of Enchantment, make sure you don’t miss the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival. This five-day event begins Wednesday, October 18 and runs through Sunday October 22 with showings at  The Lensic Performing Arts Center, Santa Fe University of Art and Design, Violet Crown and Jean Cocteau Cinema.

Presenting over 100 films in such a short time may seem like an ambitious task, but us Santa Feans know, its our duty to deliver great entertainment and culture in our unique style. That unique style also includes appearance by some of city’s biggest fans like: John Waters, who will be performing at the Lensic Performing Arts Center on the 21st as the main event of the Festival.

John Sayles and Maggie Renzi will also be in attendance to receive lifetime achievement awards. So if you are here for the real Santa Fe experience or a long time resident looking to finally be a part of this tradition, don’t miss the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival. An event guaranteed to stimulate and stir all aspects of creativity in a style true to this exceptional area.
